A range, not a target
The weight range for your height
It is a band for a measurement. It is not a goal, and it is not about you.

Wherever you sit against that range, the next step is the same. An assessment measures your blood sugar, your lipids and your liver — the things a height cannot tell anyone — and a doctor reads the results first. If there is nothing to treat, we will tell you, and you will not be sold a programme.

The limits
Why this is a range and not your number
Every tool that turns this band into a personal target has quietly stopped doing arithmetic and started making a clinical claim.
- It knows one measurement. Muscle, frame, where the weight sits and what your blood is doing are all invisible to it, and all of them matter more.
- The band is built from population averages. A population average is not a prediction about a person, and nothing here is a prediction about you.
- The cut-points differ. These are the Asian thresholds — 18.5 to 22.9 — because risk appears at lower BMI in South Asian bodies. A generic calculator will quietly use the European band and tell a lot of people they are fine.
- Being inside the band is not health, and being outside it is not illness. Both happen constantly, which is why a doctor orders blood work rather than a tape measure.
If you want to know something real
The band cannot see your blood sugar, your lipids, your thyroid or your liver
Those are measured, not estimated. That is what the health assessment is.
